End of Watch

JD attended his first police funeral today.  It was for an officer in another part of the state; his friend on the squad actually knew him and served with him in Iraq.

My heart hurt today- for this officer, for his family, and for his brothers in blue.  But in this tragic event, there was also something amazing.  This family of blue knows no boundaries.  Officers from all over the state came together to honor their fallen brother.  JD posted this picture, and when I saw it, my heart fluttered.

It is the most heartbreakingly beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my life.
